Psychic Protection

Psychic protection can be as natural as putting on your clothes in the morning, cleaning your teeth and checking your mobile phone is charged!

If you are a person who is particularly sensitive to others, then you can be like a sponge, soaking up negative energy from people around you.

It is very important to maintain your boundaries in dealing with demanding people.

Helping others is good, but not if it damages you in the process.

Your personal energy field, known as the aura, completely surrounds you – you can imagine this looks like an egg or a bubble and you are in the centre. Now, imagine your arms stretched out wide and add a few inches more. This is the minimum size you should keep your aura at.

Often when people are feeling under attack, insecure, or not feeling confident they will pull their aura in towards their body. Also, the aura will often shrink in size when a person is not well or will leak energy just like a tyre with a slow puncture!

The best way to be able to keep yourself from absorbing the effects of another person’s energy field is to keep yours large and strong. Again, imagine if you were a small sponge and somebody tipped a pint of water on you – you would be soaked, completely saturated in it and it would be a struggle for you to dry out!

Now, imagine you were a huge sponge and again somebody tipped a pint of water on you – yes you would get wet, a bit damp, yet it would be much easier for you to dry out in a shorter period of time.

When you choose to take care of yourself on all levels then you will find it easier not to absorb too much negative energy and if you do get splashed with some, it will be easier for you to shake it off!

Your auric field, combined with your chakras and your heart energy has the ability to sense information up to twenty five feet or more away. When you understand that as well as receiving information you too are giving out information, then this can help you to understand how your energy field is working for you in such a brilliant way.

The word “information” is a key word here, when you accept what you are sensing as information only – then you are less likely to absorb it and/or own it as your own. Also, you will begin to recognise more clearly when somebody is draining or taking your energy and be able to stop it.

We live in a world of energy. There’s not a single one of us that can say we’ve never energetically attacked another person or that we’ve never been energetically attacked by another person. This is the reason everyone needs a basic understanding of psychic protection techniques.

Some warning signs of psychic attack:

  • Tiredness or fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Nightmares
  • Anxiety or panic attacks
  • Depression
  • Pessimism, low confidence, negative thinking
  • Craving sugar, junk food and alcohol

What is a Psychic Attack?

This is when one person is draining another person’s energy or directing negative energy towards them. Some people do this consciously – but more often people are unaware of the effect they are having on the person under attack.

For example: imagine a mother repeatedly telling her husband that their child does not do his homework on time and that she could really shake him!

As she gives this negative information the husband will also be picturing his child in a negative way not doing the homework and have an image of his wife shaking the child.

Thoughts are very powerful and consist of energy.

Obviously, this would not be a conscious attack, yet that subtle energy would be received by the child from both parents.

Energy manifests and the chances of the child continuing not to do his/her homework will continue and the child could possibly start to experience headaches or even worse, illness, from subconsciously being shaken!!

People who feed off another’s energy are known as psychic vampires.

They work in a similar way to normal vampires, but instead of drinking blood, they tap into a person’s aura and drain their energy that way.

These people will often be intentional and deliberate in their behaviour, knowing exactly what they are doing even though they would not call it psychic attack, but would know it as being in control, manipulative etc.

Sometimes, it is possible to tell when you are under psychic attack because spending time with a particular person can leave you feeling drained. That person can be very needy or demanding, or very antagonistic and aggressive, and may manipulate you, their victim, into doing things that you really wouldn’t want to do.

Ultimately long-term psychic attack can have physical consequences and people can suffer illnesses as a direct result of being the subject of a psychic attack.

It is possible for you to drain your own energy when it comes from fear. Therefore, dealing with your own insecurities is very important for protecting yourself as, when your own energy field is weak, you become easy prey for others looking to feed from you.

Learn to love yourself. Trust and accept you are a great source of strength. Respect and honour your body by giving it the right fuel it needs to survive and thrive on. Do this by choosing what foods and nutrition you put in your body carefully and also what you put on your skin, as any toxins there may be in the product can be absorbed within 26 seconds into your bloodstream. Try to eliminate as many toxic products that you can from your home.

Choose who you spend your time with wisely, ensuring where ever possible the people you surround yourself with are positive, supportive, happy and well-balanced in their own lives.

There are many different protection techniques that you can use to help strengthen your own energy field. I suggest you find one that resonates with you and is easy for you to do.

You could practice your chosen psychic protection technique at least once a day, practising in a place where you feel safe and comfortable until your body picks up the habit and begins to naturally reinforce your protection with its own energy. After a month or two you should be proficient enough that you only need to re-visualise your chosen way of protection once a week. If you find yourself in a situation where you need an extra amount of protection, feel free to protect yourself again even if you have done so earlier in the day. As you become more comfortable and skilled at your chosen technique you will find it possible to reinforce your protection with little concentration and even while your body is in motion or otherwise distracted.

As you practice various techniques always remember to make careful notes on what happened with each one, so you can learn which one has the most benefit for you.

The Bubble Technique

Simply imagine yourself inside a ball of white light that turns away any negative energy before it can physically touch you. When you visualise this ball of light around you, you want to make sure it appears opaque and solid in your mind’s eye. This bubble should extend at least a foot above your head and at least 6 inches below your feet.

Make it wider than your arms stretched out, it doesn’t have to be a perfect sphere; just make it fit around your body in whatever shape seems most comfortable or appropriate. You need to ensure the energy in the areas above and below are just as strong as the areas in front of and behind you.

I like to imagine that the outside of my bubble has a boundary which is made up of a really fine metal, a metal not found here on earth, that it is really flexible, super slippery and it has tiny holes in it, that can allow positive energy through and that any negative energy will be blocked and slip off, as it does, I can still receive information of what it is about, yet be unaffected by it emotionally!

Rest assured that this bubble will move with you without hindrance. Any vibrations that touch it will simply pass over and around you like the wind moving around a mountain.

When you come up against someone else’s energy field, it will bend to compensate, but not break, much like two balloons pressing together. You need to hold the image of an impenetrable force field in your mind for at least a minute or two, before bringing your awareness back to the room.

The Mummy Technique

The visualising of specific shapes forming around your body piece by piece adds focus and resolve to your psychic protection, and this is the basis of the mummy technique. Begin by creating the image of a ball of white light glowing just above your head where the crown chakra centre is located. Focus on the energy here, willing its intensity to increase. Visualise white light sweeping down from this powerful sphere in the shape of a wide ribbon that begins to wrap around your head. You may want to leave some space between the energy ribbons and your physical body, perhaps 3-4 inches. Have the ribbon continue to wrap around your head, overlapping itself and creating a solid sheet that surrounds your head in protective energy. Let the ribbon continue to spin around your shoulders, torso, hips, and legs all the way down to the feet, making sure to cover every spot so that you are entirely and safely wrapped. Once you’ve worked your way down to your feet, have it wrap underneath them, completing the blanket surrounding you. When you are completely wrapped, hold the image of what you just did in your mind for a few minutes before opening your eyes. This exercise is a great way to improve your skills with energy manipulation.

The Burning Flame Technique

The Burning Flame is best used in situations that may be dangerous or that require a great amount of psychic protection over a short period of time. If you are entering a place, meeting or situation with a large amount of negativity you can perform this technique. Some people visualise their shields as a fire surrounding them at all times which is fine, although the method presented here is geared towards emergency situations or on a temporary basis since it uses high amounts of energy.

Stand perfectly upright with your legs together and your arms flat against your side. Go deep inside yourself to the centre of your being. Approach all of this with a confident intensity, your mind focused on your need for protection. Find your centre and know that in your centre there is an intense source of energy, the very energy that all your natural abilities come from.

With your consciousness in this core of your being, create an eruption of energy within yourself. Like a volcano building up pressure, cause your energy to rise and expand from your centre. As the energy reaches the outside of your body have it burst into a purple flame that surrounds your body. The curved base of the flame should be at your feet and the tip of the flame above your head. The intense energy flame will burn any negative outside vibrations before they can reach you. This flame won’t harm you physically as it’s a spiritual flame, but it will stop any other spirit or energy from touching you.

Here are some positive affirmations that can be used to strengthen your energy field and they can be combined with the technique you have decided to use.

These affirmations will help to raise your vibration and put you into harmony with the positive forces of the universe:

  • “I am totally protected from all ill will and harm”.
  • “I am blessed and protected on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level”.
  • “I feel joy and love in everything I do”.

Why the last one? Joy and love are the keys to maintaining a healthy and high vibrational field. When we can turn our attitude towards complete joy and love we will, over time, eventually discover that we only attract those joyful and loving people and situations into our lives.

Any negative ones that do occur simply aren’t able to handle this type of energy for long periods of time and thus will remove themselves from your presence
