20 Oct Embracing Autumn
As the longer summer evenings come to an end and the leaves start turning vibrant yellow, orange, and red before they begin falling from the trees, we become aware of how the shorter days and longer nights can cause changes within our energy field and our chakras.
These vibrant autumn colours are the colours of our lower chakras located within our body – the solar plexus which is 3 inches or so above your navel and is the colour yellow. The sacral chakra which is a couple of inches below the navel and is the colour orange and then the root chakra which is located at the base of the spine which is the colour red.
The days start to become cooler and the winds stronger as the lands around us begins to look more barren and uninviting, as the trees become bare displaying their empty branches, yet deep down in the earth their roots are strong as they prepare for the winter months ahead.
How Deep Are Your Roots?
Autumn gives you the opportunity to take a look at how the year has been for you and to be able to self-reflect on how your journey has been so far this year. Are there things that you would like to change, are there things that you would like to let go of? Have the seeds you planted in spring come to fruition or do they still need tending. Autumn as well as spring is a great time to plant more seeds of inspiration and ideas, so they are ready for spring growth.
Your root chakra (red) is connected to your home, family, beliefs, money, sex and being grounded to the earth energies around you. It is the foundation of your life and when it is out of balance you may have physical problems with your legs, feet, the tailbone, and your immune system leading to you experiencing symptoms of arthritis, knee pain, sciatica, constipation, and prostate problems for men to name a few.
Emotionally you may feel out of sorts, noticing imbalances which affect your basic survival needs and being able to provide life’s essential necessities like money, a roof over your head and food.
When you find your way back to your roots in this time of year and recharge your batteries you feel a sense of belonging, supported, connected, grounded and safe to the physical world.
Your sacral chakra (orange) is feminine in nature and is ruled by the moon, so it is important to be receptive to your intuition and the messages your body sends you. In autumn it is a great opportunity to reflect and become aware of any imbalances that may be going on which could include being oversensitive, not in touch with your sexuality, loss of creativity and avoiding deep intimacy.
Because of the location of the sacral chakra, physical symptoms can include pain and stiffness in the lower back, hips, and reproductive organs, urinary and kidney problems, constipation, and pelvic pain. When out of balance it can also affect the functioning of the lymphatic and circulatory systems.
When connected to your sacral chakra in a balanced way, you will feel creative, sensual, desirable, and able to express your emotions easily. You feel less stressed and more comfortable in your own skin.
Your solar plexus (yellow) is the chakra of your personal power, the place of ego, of passions, impulses, anger, and strength. It is the centre hub between all your other chakras and relays important messages to your brain.
Physical imbalances can include digestive problems, liver dysfunction, chronic fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, stomach ulcers, pancreas and gallbladder issues, colon diseases. It also can make you feel confused and not in control of your life.
When in balance you will find it easy to make healthy conscious authentic choices for yourself. You will have more self-respect for yourself and feel more assertive and motivated and find that as the solar plexus is the centre of your psychic intuition your sense of knowing becomes more heightened and stronger (known also as a gut feeling).
Your intellect and mental health will improve along with your digestive system and how you are digesting life in general. It is within this chakra that we hold the power for transformation and be able to move forward through the challenges in life!
When you are able to recognise and have the awareness that your lower chakras are out of balance and take the time to reflect and heal then your connection with the universe is strengthened and together (as you are in a lifetime partnership) you will find a deeper self-worth and meaning to your life enabling you to relax more into the flow of life, helping to make your life journey and personal goals easier to achieve through any challenges that may occur.
Autumn is a beautiful time of year, it’s a perfect time to balance, clear and activate your connection to earth and the physical body. As you embrace the coming months, give yourself the time to follow the advice of autumn and, just like the trees let go off their leaves, allow yourself to let go of all that no longer serves you in a positive way moving forward. Allow yourself to let go of stresses that you have been carrying around and know that as some things come to an end, new beginnings are on the horizon.
Many of you may see spring as a time of new beginnings, yet there is something even more extraordinary about starting something new in the autumn. As you plant your seeds quietly under the darkness of colder months, nurture them over the coming winter, the will roots grow as you stay focused on what your heart would like to see ready in time for spring.
Autumn is a perfect time to align your own energy with the earth’s changing season and regular chakra balancing is important to unblock any energy and emotions that are stuck.
It enables you to release any negativity/fear or illness that you are holding on to that has built up over time so that you can move forward in your life and be open to positive new experiences.
Raises your vibration and puts you in a better energetic position to take on the colder months ahead, helping you to find balance not only in your exterior world, but your inner world as well!
Before you get on with your day, you may like you to take some time and really work out for yourself how rested you are?
Often within this fast-paced living that has people chasing their tails, it is often overlooked at how important adequate rest can be.
Are you somebody who works hard all week and then plays at the weekend, or do you actually stop and unwind ready for the following week ahead?
Do you book a holiday and then work overtime to earn more spending money and leave your packing to the last moment, arriving exhausted at your destination. Only to arrive home to going back to work the next day? Only to feel unwell and needing to take time off to recover! Often a person can have their reasons to be able to rest back to front – when you are properly rested then it is much easier to get on with your daily activities and when you are deeply rested in advance for larger projects needed to be achieved – this is where success happens!
